Air

Air freight

Use air when the date matters more than the lowest rate per kilo.

Air freight

Air freight flies as cargo on a passenger or freighter aircraft. Express uses the fastest flight we can book and accepts the higher rate. Standard air uses a later flight or a consolidation and costs less. Both are measured in days, not weeks, when the flight leaves and customs releases the cargo.

The booking confirmation names the cutoff, the equipment, and the charges. Transit times and sample rates on this site are explanations, not that confirmation. Operations records a milestone only after the cargo or the document has actually moved.

What to send for a written rate

  • City or port of origin, and city or port of destination
  • Mode: ocean, air, or truck, if you already know it
  • Pieces, weight, and dimensions
  • What the goods are, in plain language
  • The date the freight is ready
  • Hazardous, oversized, or temperature-controlled, if any of those apply

A quote is not a booking. The booking starts when you accept the rate, the cutoff, and the document list in writing.

Express air

Express is for cargo that has a hard delivery date. We book the flight, confirm the drop-off or pickup cutoff, and tell you the chargeable weight. Chargeable weight is the greater of actual weight and volume weight.

  • Airport-to-airport or door-to-door
  • Screening is required before the aircraft
  • A missed cutoff waits for the next flight

Standard air

Standard air is still faster than ocean on most lanes, and it is the better fit when the cargo can wait a few extra days for a lower rate or a consolidation.

What airlines restrict

Batteries, liquids, aerosols, magnetic material, and anything listed as dangerous goods need a declaration before we accept them. Loose cargo must be packed so it can be screened and stacked. An airline can refuse a piece that exceeds the aircraft limit even after we have quoted it.

How it works

  1. 1

    Send dimensions

Every piece needs length, width, height, and weight.

  2. 2

    We check the flight

The quote names the service and the cutoff.

  3. 3

    Screen and load

Cargo is screened, then built for the aircraft.

  4. 4

    Recover and deliver

After arrival, customs release comes before the truck.

Questions

Why is chargeable weight higher than the scale?

Aircraft space is sold on weight and on volume. A light, bulky carton is charged on the volume equivalent.

Do you collect the cargo?

Door pickup is available when the quote includes it. Airport drop-off uses the warehouse and the deadline on the booking.

What if the flight is cancelled?

We rebook the next flight that accepts the cargo and update the tracking milestones.
