Cargo claims

A cargo claim is a report that freight was lost or damaged while it was in our care, or that the piece count does not match. A scam report is different: someone is using a shipment story to ask you for a payment we did not invoice. Use this page to see which one you have, then contact operations.

The booking confirmation names the cutoff, the equipment, and the charges. Transit times and sample rates on this site are explanations, not that confirmation. Operations records a milestone only after the cargo or the document has actually moved.

What to send for a written rate

  • City or port of origin, and city or port of destination
  • Mode: ocean, air, or truck, if you already know it
  • Pieces, weight, and dimensions
  • What the goods are, in plain language
  • The date the freight is ready
  • Hazardous, oversized, or temperature-controlled, if any of those apply

A quote is not a booking. The booking starts when you accept the rate, the cutoff, and the document list in writing.

Damage and shortage

Write the exception on the delivery receipt before the driver leaves. Photograph the goods, the packaging, and the labels. Keep the packing until the claim is closed. Send the tracking number, the delivery date, and the photos to operations.

Loss

If tracking stops in Exception or the freight never arrives, contact us with the number. We trace it before a claim is settled. A trace is not a refusal. It is how we find out where the last milestone was.

Messages that are not us

We do not ask for gift cards, cryptocurrency, or a transfer to a private person to release a container. We do not ask for your portal password. Track the number. If it is not on file, treat the demand as false and contact us on the phone or email published on this site.

How it works

  1. 1

    Mark the receipt

Visible damage or a shortage goes on the paper at delivery.

  2. 2

    Photograph

    Goods, packaging, and labels.

  3. 3

    Write to operations

Tracking number, date, and what is wrong.

  4. 4

    Keep the freight

Do not discard the packing while the claim is open.

Questions

Is there a deadline?

File as soon as you know. The bill of lading for that shipment states the claim window. Waiting makes the photos and the receipt harder to use.

Who pays a claim?

Liability follows the carriage document and the facts of the move. This page does not promise a dollar amount.

What if the carton was already crushed at pickup?

Tell the driver then. Damage that was already noted at pickup is not a new destination claim.
